I just did get my room reservation confirmation from the Estrel. And there's one thing that makes me wonder. At the EF registration site, it's stated that all taxes are included in the room price.
But in my confirmation mail from the hotel, they say everyone has to pay the new overnight stay tax at the door, which is 5% of the netto price plus 7% VAT.

Die ab dem 01.01.2014 von der Stadt Berlin erhobene Übernachtungssteuer in Höhe von 5 % auf den netto Logispreis zuzgl. 7% MwSt. ist von jedem Gast vor Ort zu begleichen. Ausgenommen sind beruflich veranlasste Übernachtungen. Hier hat der Gast den Nachweis zu führen.

I don't mind about that, but I guess a lot of attendees won't be happy about this.
