Yep, as I've guessed the new booking system failed. I remember someone on facebook "oh, don't worry. everything will be fine. the ihotelier server can handle 2000+ people"
30min now.

As soon as I choose another language or date, the system freezes with a message "Loading..."

The furthest I got was the "select date" page. Then loading freeze.
and when you select a date it loads, and when you select how many people it load, and when you book it load... 4 loads 4 failure in different time :P

Not full, just Server errors. I contacted the Hotel about it and they confirmed me that there are still rooms.
It looks like when I change the language, the url changes so it forgets its groupID. Perhaps this changes the availability too.
Default language is 7 = German, why didn't they choose English instead ;_;
English seems to be id 1

According to Estrel's twitter, ihotelier's servers are down and they are working on it. The reply of EF's fursuit channel asks users to refrain from believing any unofficial rumours. (Such as the booking date being rescheduled, a rumour I have heard. THen again, I'm fairly sure that this would be announced on the forum and the registry site.)

It is, the high amount of http requests, POST, GET REDIRECT cycles is absurd, this thing is not optimised for performance.
Requiring an additional http request for the # of adults is also weird, instead of bundling it all up in a single post....

It will stay unfair until Estrel has got new tower. Which will still take a lot of time since the highway the town builds next to it prevented them from starting if I remember correctly. Can't find any status about it.
It's not unfair if you are actually able to book and do so before it's booked out. Doesn't work though as one can see.

I know that it is not the fault of EF nor the Estrel.
But the ones who are responsible for this (whoever this may be) should have learned their lesson by now >:(
Side note: On travelclick (the "secret" link) the "This room is no longer available for your selected dates." are likely meaningless and caused by internal server errors or gateway timeouts (since all requests at that stage return 500 or 504).
I guess some people managed to squeeze through whenever the server wasn't throwing errors out for everyone by notorously clicking and clicking again and being lucky that the right packets didn't time out at the wrong time.

Here in California the registration open time was midnight. It,s now 4 hours plus and i am too sleepy to make coherent keystrokes, let alone continuing to fight this demon. I need sme shut- eye now. Will try to get back in the battle in about 4 hours from now.

I find this really funny, considering the page was supposed to be in English booking only.
and then, suddenly, it worked!
using the main site through the link in the email on a mobile device rather than the laptop that i'd been using for the past 4 hours or so.
had to leave everything in german, but after 12 tries it suddenly got through.
so, after 4 and a half hours, i managed to get a room.

If you get a confirmation Email and Number for your reservation, they have to honour it somehow. If you can prove they agreed and they confirmed you have a room, then you have one.
Finally it worked in Chrome on the original ihotelier-site, on my PC after deleting cache+cookies (once again). Since ppl on twitter kept posting that only standard twin rooms were available anymore, I picked that.
It only took 5 hours and 10 minutes. Whoah!

When switching to another language, that very well programmed portal shaves off the group id from the link. Change it in the link (language id 1) instead. :|

I managed to get a room through the Travelclick site. I've been getting "Access Denied" notifications on both websites for close to an hour now (and still am, just checking to be sure), but I still had an active session open on the Travelclick one from earlier, and after I changed some dates (checkout date changed to 20th instead of 21st) it suddenly worked. Got a confirmation email and everything.
So yeah, that took almost 6 hours, and I get to stay a day less than I was planning but, honestly, I absolutely dare not complain right now with the mess everyone seems to be in...
still no room...... neither via travelclick or ihotelier.
I've been to 8 x EF's, but will this be the end...?

I just don't get it, why I was not able, to book through the 21.
Just remember, many people may have booked 2 or more rooms,... once they have their rooms confirmed many will cancel the extras. Rooms will come back, now its just finding who has spares and if you can get them.
Hope is not lost, just a little dimmer.

Yes, but no rooms available at all, even for dates that had previously been available. It looks like an admin has locked down our group-code rather than the rooms actually being fully booked for our dates. Once they've untangled their back end they'll presumably be re-enabling it, and hopefully we'll see free rooms.

I got a room via ihotelier, but only 16-20 were available.
Phoned the Estrel to ask if this can be changed: yes, through the same site.
Tried it while on the phone: 15/21 is not available, but single days 22+23 still would be (without the 21, so no use).
Asked how this could be?
Got told, that there are still plenty rooms available, but the contingent to book through this site with this code is used, they have to assign additional rooms to them, will take a little.
So it seems, there was a block of rooms for the full date, some for 16-21, and some for 15-21.
The 15-21 is out, as are the few rooms for the full date, because someone booked e.g. arrival on Sunday.
But as only a few booked a later departure than 21, 22+23 are still available as single days.
This means: There are still rooms, and not only a few. But theay have to be assigned to the EF and to ihotelier to be available.
No Panic, use your towel.
that sounds like a very user unfriendly booking system tbh, they knew we were coming, they got their booking delay for full staffing and yet they didn't prepare o.o

I just came back home and tried again, it seems the reservation page is now completely unavailable.

Booked out according to the Twitter, only option is to mail Estrel and ask to be put on the waiting list.
