At the first day we found the Turkish fish-restaurant Marin at the end of the small road along the channel:
https://tr-tr.facebook.com/MarinRestaurant (https://tr-tr.facebook.com/MarinRestaurant)
http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=52.47761&mlon=13.45959#map=19/52.47761/13.45959 (http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=52.47761&mlon=13.45959#map=19/52.47761/13.45959)
They have dishes with fish and all sorts of meat along with nice salad. This is not your simple "Döner".
They have a nice garden to sit "open air".
Hint: Do mention only 1 restaurant per post and mention it in the "subject".
Update: They are closed during EF. We were literally too many for them.
Some minutes away in Eastern direction is the Italian restaurant La Terrazza

http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=52.47066&mlon=13.46830#map=18/52.47066/13.46830 (http://www.openstreetmap.org/?mlat=52.47066&mlon=13.46830#map=18/52.47066/13.46830)
They have all kinds of Italian dishes, including some very fine ones like Carpaccio. This is not your simple Pizzaria.
They have a very nice terrace-like garden with trees to sit outside.
Update 2019: Both restaurants seem closed.
Not so close to the Estrel is the steak-house Escados

The Las Olas below is a decent "Plan B".

Kebab Sonnenallee. For real. Like really close to the hotel (<5 minutes) and cheap as fuck. 3.50 € the BIG kebab really ? I never saw that (and of course I took one) - excellent, in France you have to put atleast 5 € for that size and quality! Would recommend 100% (sadly I'm not sure about the exact location and name, the Google Maps views are from 2008 ...)
Ramen Restauran Men Men, about 2.5 km away, 10 Minutes with the Bus (Short Distance Ticket)

It would be nice, if we could collect the Restaurants here and assemble them together for next Years Con Book

Did someone tried Shaan this year?
Indian kitchen with interesting dishes.
But awfully damn slow. Last time we were there lots of people canceled their order. We did not try it this time any more.

We went this year (like every year before that) and got our food in record time. However, they were nearly empty. I also heard a lot of people stopped going there after having one or two bad experiences.
I think their kitchen can't handle more than 3 or 4 tables at once. The food however, is always really good.
Kölle Pizza
Planetenstraße 57, 12057 Berlin
We were at a rather small place called Kölle Pizza during the last two years. Approxiamately 20 seats outside + 20-30 seats inside. It is a delivery service in the first place, but customers on location gets served quickly, too. The menu selection is rather small, you'll get the most common basics in Pizza, Burgers and Salads. The restaurant also serves Köfte and grilled chicken.
The prices are affordable, I paid 7€ for a 30cm Pizza Hawaii that tasted very good. Our group of 8 furries got a free turkish tea afterwards. The staff was very friendly.
The place is in the same distance as La Terazza, just walk straight forward through the railway bridge at S-Bf Köllnische Heide. The restaurant is on the right side of Sonnenallee.
still my favorite: BBI Berlin Burger International. (Pannier str. 6; https://www.berlinburgerinternational.com) 6 stations (short trip ticket) with the M61 if you use the bus stop right at the S-Bahn bridge. Doesn't look like much on the outside (and not on the inside, too^^) but fucking good burgers at a reasonable price! I'd suggest to go there when weather is dry bc the thing has the size of a small transit bus, so no seating on the inside.
happy food hunting
