Hello one and all, my name is Flint and I as well as Shaman are the new staff members coordinating the Board Game Room at this year's Eurofurence! We are excited to welcome anyone and everyone to come along and enjoy the fun and games with your fellow convention goers.

This year, Shaman and I will continue the open and friendly atmostphere that is the games corner, but also attempt at some new ideas and potential sigs, all early days at the moment of course. If anyone is interested in helping and lending a paw we'd both be very grateful!

We'll make further announcements as time goes by with any new ideas and plans we have, so keep your eyes peeled :)

Also, in case anyone was wondering what they were getting into, we are always looking for people enthusiastic about board gaming to meet and greet new visitors to the games room. We would appreciate as much or as little time as you would be willing to spare at the con.

And, if you have some board games that you are willing to bring along, so much the better ;D Me and Flinty will be flying from the UK, so will be limited to the amount of games that we will be able to bring with us.

I am on the lookout though for someone with a specific skill though ... a Magic: The Gathering judge! It would be kind of cool to organize some sort of MTG event, but this will depend entirely on interest. If you are interested, please do let me know.

We have a few more schemes to make board gaming at EF bigger and better, so the more help we can get the more we can do :)

Yup Sairys ^^ It's been there for the last 3 years at the Maritim up near the swimming pool. It's only been open in the evenings.

Hi,

I would like to bring a Game of Go and a Mah Jongg-game*. Is there maybe an interest in these games or are they too unusual and no one would be interested in / play them?

* Mah Jongg is also a game for 4 players. Not only that single-player game building down the pyramid-like thing (or other shapes) built up with these stones.

I'd love to try those!

I used to have a go board but I never was much good at it — then again, I'm not too good at board games and card games to begin with — but it was interesting enough.  And I've always wanted to play real Mahjong.  If you can also explain the rules, I'd like to give it a try!

I would quite like a game of Go, and I'd be happy to play Mah Jongg too. I would also probably need a refresher in the rules tho :)

We are indeed planning on scheduling a game of Werewolves! It may not be of the Ultimate variety though. We're planning on putting all the details into the conbook  :D
