Some little birdie has already told me what the theme is, and...

There are some things which are more fun if you do not know about them, despite the curiosity gnawing away at you.

Among these are:

1)  How the stage magician really made the woman float or the tiger vanish, or any other flashy trick.

2)  Who killed the victim, before the detective has assembled the clues and the suspects and reveals that the Murderer can only be...

3)  The punchline to a really complex joke or "Shaggy Dog Story" (it is amazing how often someone among the audience or sitting in the bar will wait until a beat or so before you spring it, and then beat you to it - and will usually get the words wrong, to boot).

4)  Just what, exactly, goes into a typical sausage, and how it is put there.

5)  Whether or not that giftwrapped box with the pretty satin ribbon under the tree or in your stocking or behind the window of the Advent Calendar actually holds what you hope it does.

These are all classed as "Secrets of Anticipation"  (Well - except for the sausage, that is more likely a "Secret of Necessity"), and are something that you savour.  And when someone prematurely lets the cat out of the bag, they cheat both the intended audience, and those who may be holding that secret until a proper dramatic opportunity comes along to reveal it, for best and most pleasing effect, all according to a fixed plan.

I am going to pretend that you are wrong.  It will be easier to feel surprised that way, when the EuroFURence staff finally see fit to tell us, in their own fashion and in their own time.
