So, when and where is this going to take place? :)

Also, are savory snacks welcome? I'm thinking about bringing a box of Kieler Sprotten if anyone'd be interested in trying those.

As long as it's not swiss cheese fondue...  ::)

HOLY CRAP HOW I SECOND THIS! That smell... I still remember it. 3 levels above the bar, it was still unbearable. My god, never ever again. Ever.
And so I say the things I say
And do the things I do
And if you do not like it, then
To hell, my dear, with you

Ok, went shopping, purchased some amaretti, Salami, and panforte (you bet you'll like them)

Bought some chinotto and cedrata as well to drink

Haha, no. These ARE smoked fish, so they do have a certain aroma, but it's quite gentle and should neither be detectable outside the immediate area nor linger around. :)

And they're eaten whole the way they are, not further prepared.

I will never forget that moment.

Poor Ringberg & poor guests of the hotel. There was also a guy with a gas mask.  ;D

I'd like to remember that we have a "no smelly food" rule. I'm also not sure if fish aroma mixes well with cookies, cakes etc. ...

If you look closely at the rule, you will find it begins with the word "no".

Which part of that word do we have to explain to you? :)

I'm less interested in the general rule than in its application to my specific offer, and I wanted to make sure there'd be no misunderstandings. There is no need for sarcasm, especially in response to questions made in good faith.

Anyhow, I suppose this does clear things up, so thanks for that at least.

Okay, just discovered a few days ago that this thread (It's the longest thread on the whole forum WTH!) was still running and that it seems that the event has been placed upon the roster of EF 2012 on the upcoming friday somewhere around 12-ish.

Now I do want to let you all know I never planned to go on with it this year because I could already hardly handle it last year as people are too excited and the room was pretty small and now without saying a thing it was planned in again. To be fair I'm quite afraid of this.

HOWEVER

I don't really think it would be fair to cancel the event, even though it's not prepared at all by me, as some people already bought in certain snacks I figured.

So what I will do is check on the room as mentioned in the booklet and see how populair it'll be. If enough people show up I'm willing to do a word at the event and get it all started like last year though don't expect a big preperation. It's you guys that make the event succesful, not me.

However I will cut it off just before the start of the dance contest as I want to attend that one, and I bet I'm not the only one. (which is about an hour or more after the start of the event)

Hope that, just like last time, you guys are super excited and make the event roll on itself just like the last time so everybody has an amazing time!

p.s. you can always poke me on my e-mail or at the con.

Sorry for the double post but I need to post it here.

Thanks everybody for making this happen!

I had no time to prepare this but even so you guys again brought the amazing and made it all happen.

Just a bit sad the box didn't make it to the auction. We really tried and hoped it would happen. Maybe something for next year?

I liked it very much. Especially that some had the foresight to bring beverages and that the italian panel had snacks from "real" food.

The shame about it tho, is that events take place at the same time, so I had to choose one to attend.

Sadly you always have that with panels.
